It will be out through Virgin/EMI on March 5th, 2007. The limited edition will include a bonus DVD containing "Perfect Skin" video, a 5-song live from Hollywood's Whisky a Go-Go in 2006 and "On The Route 69" short film based on Ville Juurikkala's photos.
The album was produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa and Johnny Lee Michaels – the same infamous team that brought you "Devils".
The first single is "Perfect Skin" – the video for it was directed by Ralf Strathmann and it was filmed in Hollywood in mid October 2006. The commercial release of the single will be in January/February 2007, depending on your country. The additional tracks on the single will be live versions of "Devils", "Christina Death" and "I Just Want to Have Something to Do" (orig. by the Ramones) recorded at Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood in March 2006.

Thats it, the summer festival seasons over from The 69 Eyes in this year. It was so good to see you German fans last weekend - it felt like a comeback special! On Friday it was so cool to see friends Lacrimas Profundere and Dimmu Borgir guys...In Cologne Amphi Festival truly fucking rocked, the best festival show this year! Due to our really tight schedule (I hated that, constant running around...), were sorry we werent able to play longer, stay longer in the signing session (pretty chaotic). Special thanks to our good friends at X-tra-X store and to all our friends and fans we didnt have time to personally meet this time: we will be back as soon as our album comes out!
My collected old skool goth'n'roll art & comics book "ZOMBIE LOVE" will come out in the end of September, published by Deggael Communications. Because of that I will be a special guest at The 21st Helsinki Comics Festival in Sept.23rd. More info about that inHERE.
I guess the track list for our upcoming album "ANGELS" is ready now; the latest song we just came up with is called "Only Fools Don't Fall Once More"...The first single "Perfect Skin" should come out around October/November, it will have a couple live tracks from our March sold out show at Whisky A Go-Go.

Studio news: the complete track listing is 90% ready. Johnny Lee Michaels is on hellfire in the studio right now. There’s going to be pretty cool guests on this record too, btw. 21st century apocalypse rock’n'roll, that’s “Angels” (both, the album and the title track). The first single will most likely be “Perfect Skin”, it’s all about my head between Jenna Jameson’s legs…
Publications: “ZOMBIE LOVE - Vampires, ghosts and The 69 Eyes” is the title of my up-coming comic book, about 100 pages, a really beautiful art book published by Deggael Communications in September. And “ROUTE 69″, a nearly 200-page photographic journey with The 69 Eyes by photographer Ville Juurikkala will be published by Like in November.
Meanwhile: don’t waste your summer nights, if NOTHING else, read some good books in the moonlight, babes.

†ROUTE 69 - a photographic journey with The 69 Eyes by Ville Juurikkala The 69 Eyes’ court photographer Ville Juurikkala has been travelling and shooting the band around the world nearly two years and a book about this journey (concentrating mostly on their tour in the US in March 2006) will be published later on this year by Like. A glimpse for these photos and book can be seen at Club Midway, 25 Avenue B, New York City on Friday, May 19th during O’Suomifest 2006.

The 69 Eyes performed on NBC’s Last Call Carson Daly on Thursday, March 23rd.
The 69 Eyes are currently preparing to enter the studio to record their next album, entitled as "ANGELS", with the producers Hiili Hiilesmaa and Johnny Lee Michaels. The band will also play at a couple of festivals in the summer 2006.

Jyrki69, singer of the Finnish rock band The 69 Eyes had been
appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador this year. He had been deeply
involved in the school campaign "Stolen childhood" in Finland .
"Stolen Childhood" is a campaign designed for schools, and the
beneficiaries are children in West-African Benin, who run the risk of
becoming trafficked.
Last week Jyrki69 has visited Moscow for the start of the big tour,
including Russia, Mexico and Brazil. Young people from "Otradnoye",
the Moscow state social rehabilitation centre for children and young
people attended his concert as the special guests. The next day the
singer paid a visit to "Otradnoye" where he enjoyed an opportunity to
meet with children.
UNICEF has been working with "Otradnoye" since 1999. There are 100
children of different ages living at the center all of whom have faced
numerous troubles and tragedies throughout their lives. More than 50
young people visit the centre on the daily basis and have additional
lessons here and do extra curriculum activities, including sessions
with psychologists.
There is a special department - social hostel - for those young people
who are elder than 18 years and need to be accommodated. "Otradnoye"
specialists provide support in individual educational programmes to
children with big gaps in schooling. Here children get psychological
support, and what's the most important, love and respect which they
have never seen before.
"It was a big fun to visit the concert,-said Natalya Snournikova, the
psychologist of the centre who accompanied a team from the centre to
The 69 Eyes concert.- It's also very important that our children know
that they have been invited especially. They definitely enjoyed the
show and were looking forward to see the front man at their home."
Kolya Fardzinov and Alesha Ouglov liked the concert despite the fact
that the music was too loud sometimes. They didn't believe to the last
moment that the singer would make his promise and would visit the
centre. He came and they were able to discuss the music and why was it
so loud. There were questions about the name of the group The singer
explained that The 69 Eyes was a little bit scare and intriguing
following the rock traditions.
The youngest children were busy with drawing session when Jyrki
entered their room. He happened to be a good painter. He made a good
picture of a funny bat and told the fairy tale about it. This bat
happened to live in the castle and it was leaving it when there was a
moon. The bat had a big and kind heart. Children asked a lot of
questions. Polina, a 6 year old girl wondered if the guest was wearing
a wig. Jyrki pulled his long black hair to show that it was his own.
Young people showed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador their home and invited
him to the impromptu concert. Jyrki was delighted to communicate with
children and watch the concert. He happened to be a very attentive
listener and a spectator.
This meeting with children became a highlight of my visit to Russia,
said Jyrki. — I will be meeting with Finnish schoolchildren at home
and I will be telling them what I've seen here. As UNICEF Goodwill
Ambassador, I'm a messenger. I have to tell people what they don't
know. I will have a right to talk now about these wonderful children
whom I've met here. I will be able to talk not only about abandoned
children, street children and children from vulnerable families but
also about those projects that help such children to start a normal
life with regular schooling, vacations and getting vocational
training. I hope to be back at this place to visit my new friends with
my fellow musicians. We will play football altogether at that time for
sure!

A few days ago Jyrki69 signed an agreement of cooperation with the UNICEF invited by the Board of Directors of the organization. The singer of the 69 eyes has cooperated in UNICEF's work as Spokesperson before, too. His first experience was a campaign called “Stolen childhood” which was designed for schools, and the beneficiaries are children in West-African Benin, who run the risk of becoming trafficked.
During the ceremony, Executive Director Pentti Kotoaro of UNICEF Finland said that “the unselfish work of the Goodwill Ambassadors is a priceless resource to UNICEF. With their help the message of children’s rights reaches audiences, to which we would not have access otherwise.”
The Goodwill Ambassadors are UNICEF's messengers and spokespersons who take the stand for children’s rights. They are volunteers for UNICEF who commit themselves to the goals of the organization and put children’s issues on the agenda in their own field. The Goodwill Ambassadors of UNICEF Finland are Eija Ahvo, Susanna Haavisto, Anna Hanski, Katri Helena Kalaoja, Rainer Kaunisto, Juha Laukkanen, Pave Maijanen, Eppu Nuotio, Micke Rejström, Jorma Uotinen, Eija Vilpas and Trio Töykeät, that is Iiro Rantala, Rami Eskelinen and Eerik Siikasaari.
In the list of international Goodwill Ambassadors you can find Harry Belafonte, David Beckham, Angelina Jolie, Robbie Williams, Angélique Kidjo, Ricky Martin, Sir Roger Moore and such popular people.
As his first UNICEF field trip Jyrki will visit Kenya in the end of August 2005.

After the very first gig of the Devils tour, 69 drummer Jussi was taken to hospital because of his perforated appendix. The band postponed all the gigs till 3rd of December, when they are back on stage in Savonlinna. We wish all the best and fast recovery for Jussi!
